Shadows Workout
Ian McCutcheon's Shadows Workout Backing Track CDs
Shadows Workout CD22+
This has been a completely different project. I recorded all of these tracks during the "lockdown" and because of this without Dave on keyboards, but he will be back on my future CDs.
At the beginning of the lockdown I realised amongst cancelled gigs and a limited social life that I had some extra time to experiment and it gave me the idea of putting together some original arrangements. I hope you like my ideas.
It would have been incorrect for me to use the name "Shadows" in the title of this CD as I have actually not covered any Shadows tracks. However, the new arrangements are in a "Shadows" style.
I have put together arrangements for "The William Tell Overture", "THe Munsters Theme", "Tuxedo Junction", "Soul Bossa Nova", "Smooth Operator" and "Can't Help Falling in Love".
My version of "Desafinado" is based on the Coleman Hawkins version from the 1960s.
The remaining three tracks are taken from a long list of requests. These are Duane Eddy's "The Quiet Three", which is a nice easy piece to play, "Should I" by the String-A-Longs, and "Gypsy Beat" by the Packabeats, all from the 1960s.
If you like the new arrangements I have recorded, I hopefully will produce a similar CD very shortly which will, of course, include Dave on Keyboards.
